Our Story
For over 50 years, our family has dedicated itself to one purpose:
making slopes safer for people and nature to coexist.
What began in 1974 as a small idea in Japan has grown into a trusted slope-safety solution used by:
- Electric utility crews,
- Trail maintenance teams,
- Orchard and vineyard workers,
- Landowners and families across the country.
More than 550,000 NOBOROKKA steps have been installed throughout Japan, turning unsafe, muddy, or uneven slopes into stable, walkable paths.
A Philosophy Rooted in Craftsmanship
We believe that even the smallest steps can contribute to something meaningful.
Our brand color bengara red was inspired by a story about two bricklayers.
When asked what they were building, one said “I’m laying bricks.”
The other answered, “I’m creating a magnificent structure.”
This mindset has shaped NOBOROKKA from the beginning.
Every step we make is designed not just as a product, but as a way to:
- Support safety,
- Respect natural landscapes,
- Enable people to move confidently through the outdoors.

Designed to Work in Harmony with Nature
NOBOROKKA is made with recycled resin and bamboo composite, crafted to withstand both weather and time while minimizing impact on the environment.
There’s:
- no digging,
- no concrete,
- and no damage to soil or roots.
Just a simple, durable system that blends into natural terrain and empowers anyone regardless of skill to build safe paths on slopes.
Our Mission
To help people move safely through outdoor spaces
from backyards to forests, vineyards to mountain trails
while preserving the beauty and integrity of the natural environment.
We believe in safety that feels natural.
Solutions that last.
And craftsmanship that respects both people and the land.
Where We’re Headed
As we expand NOBOROKKA globally, our goals remain the same:
- Build safe paths on slopes everywhere
- Support communities, workers, and families
- Continue innovating while honoring our Japanese heritage
- Sustain a balance between human access and nature’s rhythm
