I have a steep slope from my barn down to the chicken area that I use every day. I really didn’t want to try and put in some kind of stairs and digging out the slop for steps would be very labor intensive and with the weather I live in, would soon wear down.
So when I saw these, I thought they might be just the right idea. It took very little to make a groove in the dirt to place them in and I had them installed in less than 1/2 an hour. I was easily able to curve the pathway of the steps to match the contour of the slope. The raised surface pattern gives grip to shoes or boots in all weather conditions, even though the steps are made of a hard plastic. The stakes have a ringed end to keep a better grip in the soil. So far they have stayed in place and solid through several kinds of wet and snowy conditions.
When there’s a steep slope along your daily route, it becomes especially risky on rainy days or when your hands are full carrying items.
